THEME1 / Introduction of the business department

This department is mainly responsible for cutting and procurement and management of raw materials. Cutting plans are created after predicting product inventory status and future trends, and veterans and young employees cut approximately 2,000 garments each day at the factory. Since it can take up to four months for the raw materials necessary for this cutting work to arrive, we share information with other divisions and strive to prevent production stagnation due to fabric shortages. This supports the production of Wako.

THEME2 / What do you keep in mind when working?

It is about proceeding with the work without rushing the subsequent processes. “Work is teamwork,” and there are limits to what one person can do alone. For example, since the beginning of production is cutting, delays in this step place a burden on subsequent processes, increasing the possibility of small mistakes and delivery delays. Therefore, we are especially conscious of not causing any delays in the process.

We carry out each task carefully to deliver beautiful products. I am in charge of the process of rolling out the fabric and cutting it into a fixed shape, and I carefully check to make sure there are no scratches or stains on the product. In addition to ensuring that there are no delays in cutting plans, we are also conscious of time so that we can respond to even detailed custom orders.

THEME3 / Please tell us about a moment when you felt fulfilled.

Since joining the company, the cutting work has never stopped. The fact that we need to produce every day means that we are receiving orders from customers, which gives us a sense of gratitude and helps us maintain our own motivation. Encouraging the growth of young people is also a challenge and an exciting part.

This is the moment when I was able to make a clean cut in a short time. We are thinking about how to cut efficiently and with fewer movements. As a result, the fabric can be cut efficiently and uniformly, and the cast members feel a sense of accomplishment as it is now easier to sew.
Also, since I was involved in sports club activities when I was a student, I am confident in my abilities, and when I am assigned to do heavy lifting such as loading and unloading sewing machines and carrying raw material, I feel that I am needed, which makes me happy. . When I hear words of gratitude such as “As expected of me” and “Thank you,” I feel like my hard work during my student days has been recognized.
